The latest setback for the heirs of Superman co-creator came in the form of a succinct (by legal standards) document out of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. You can read it here.
And if you're REALLY interested, you can read this document, a June 2012 legal brief (a misnomer, in this case) from Superman owners Warner Bros. regarding the litigation. On page 3-5, you can see a list of previous cases supporting Warner's position, including the Marvel-Kirby suit and Jerry Siegel's 1974 suit against DC. We're not attorneys, but it's probably safe to assume that this list represents the cream of the crop of the trampling of creators' rights.
